Privacy Policy

1. Said to Contain Basis

All consignments are accepted on a “Said to Contain” basis.
Chamba Manali Transport Co. (Regd) is not responsible for verifying the contents or description of the shipment as declared by the consignor on the docket, invoice, or airway bill. It is the sole responsibility of the consignor to ensure accurate and truthful declarations.

Chamba Manali Transport Co. (Regd) reserves the right to inspect or refuse shipments that do not conform to these terms. Any such inspection or refusal will only be done after informing the consignor of the reasons and obtaining their confirmation.

Prohibited, restricted, or dangerous goods must not be handed over for shipment. If such items are found in the shipment due to the consignor’s action or negligence, Chamba Manali Transport Co. (Regd), its directors, and employees shall be fully indemnified against any claims, losses, damages, charges, or expenses arising as a result.

2. Liability for Loss or Damage

In the event of loss, theft, damage, or mishandling of any shipment:

  • For uninsured documents, the company’s maximum liability is limited to ten (10) times the freight charge.

  • For uninsured parcels, the maximum liability is limited to five (5) times the freight charge.

These limits apply in all cases unless otherwise agreed in writing.

3. No Service Area (NSA)

If a shipment (document or parcel) is mistakenly booked for a location that falls under No Service Area (NSA)—areas beyond our operational network—it will be returned to the consignor.

In such cases, the company’s or franchisee’s maximum liability is limited to refund of the freight amount only.

4. Applicability of Terms

These terms and conditions apply to all shipments handled by Chamba Manali Transport Co. (Regd), regardless of the mode of transport used.

5. Mode of Transport

Chamba Manali Transport Co. (Regd) reserves the right to use any route or mode of transportation as deemed appropriate for the delivery of consignments.

6. Contract of Carriage

The consignment note/docket serves as the contract of carriage between Chamba Manali Transport Co. (Regd) and the consignor (customer).

7. Non-Negotiable Document

The Waybill or Consignment Note is non-negotiable. It may be prepared either by the consignor or by Chamba Manali Transport Co. (Regd) on behalf of the consignor.

8. Acceptance of Terms

By handing over a shipment to Chamba Manali Transport Co. (Regd), the consignor automatically accepts all terms and conditions outlined in the consignment note and/or carriage contract.

These terms also apply to:

  • Subcontractors and agents employed for collection, transport, or delivery

  • Employees, directors, and representatives of Chamba Manali Transport Co. (Regd)

Oral or written instructions that conflict with these terms will not be binding, unless explicitly agreed in writing by an authorized officer of Chamba Manali Transport Co. (Regd).

9. Insurance

Chamba Manali Transport Co. (Regd) does not provide insurance coverage for consignments.
Customers are advised to insure their shipments independently before handing them over for transportation.

In case of loss, theft, or damage, the company’s liability is limited to the issue of a Certificate of Facts (COF) only.
